Omer Pershing Wehmeyer, 88, of Lawrenceburg, IN, formerly of Dillsboro, IN, died Friday, June 4, 2010 in Lawrenceburg, IN.

He was born Saturday, September 24, 1921 in Dillsboro, IN, Son of the late William Wehmeyer and the late Myrtle Kinnett Wehmeyer.

He served his Country during WWII, in the Army Air Force.

He worked as a Mechanic and was retired from Texas Gas Transmission in Dillsboro, IN after over 40 years of service. He was a 32 Degree Mason with the Dillsboro Hopewell Lodge for over 50 years and a member of the Dillsboro American Legion.

Surviving are Sons, Danny Wehmeyer of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Jim Wehmeyer of Rising Sun, IN; Daughter, Linda Wehmeyer of Lawrenceburg, IN; Sister, Wilma Loh of Rising Sun, IN; 7 Grandchildren & 14 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jeffries Wehmeyer.


Friends will be received 5:00- 8:00 pm Monday, June 7, 2010 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Tuesday, at 11:00 am with Pastor Bud Jones, officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, IN . Military graveside services will be conducted by members of local Veterans Service Organizations.
