Martha Jane Farrell, 94, of Milan, IN, formerly of Aurora, IN for 65 years, died Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Milan, IN.

She was born Monday, August 21, 1916 in Cincinnati, OH, Daughter of the late Ludie Fulton Puckett


Mrs. Farrell loved to read, sew, cook, garden and can the goodies from her garden. She was a women of many talents. She wrote short stories and even wrote the Vevay High School Fight Song and could still sing the words, even in her 90's. Her most notable talent was raising her eight children and then her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are Sons, Victor (Wife, Mary Ann) Farrell of Aurora, IN, Vernon (Wife, Frieda) Farrell of West Palm Beach, FL, Paul V. (Wife, Mary) Farrell of Bright, IN , David Farrell of NC; Daughters, Verna Schwier of FL, Venita (Husband, Herb) Haas of Springfield, OH, Verris (Husband, Dave) Minniear of Sidney, OH, Dianna Rice of Aurora, IN; 34 Grand Children, 55 Great Grandchildren & 22 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Farrell, Grandson Uriah Rinehart, and Grandaughter Mary Elizabeth Haag.


Friends will be received 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:00 am. 

Interment will follow in the Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles, IN.
