Herbert "Herb" Rowlett, 70, of Dillsboro, IN,  formerly of Aurora, IN, died Monday, January 12, 2009 in Dillsboro, IN.

He was born Thursday, April 7, 1938 in Berea, Kentucky, Son of the late Roy Floyd Rowlett and the late Doce Ann Croucher Rowlett.

He served his Country as an Army Veteran.
He was a member of the New Life Southern Baptist Church in Manchester, IN and a life member of North American Hunting Club and National Rifle Association.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was especially a good Father and Grandfather and Husband.

He worked as a Diesel Mechanic  for Bob & Harry's Garage, Tri County, OH, retiring after over 37 years of service.

Surviving are Wife, Ada Mae Rowlett of Aurora, IN;   Sons, Mark "Shorty"  Rowlett & Matt Rowlett, both of Aurora, IN;  Stepsons, Michael Storey & Terry Storey, both of Aurora, IN, & Ryan Storey of Moores Hill, IN; Stepdaughter, Paula Meyer of Aurora, IN;   Brothers, Alonzo Rowlett & Jesse Rowlett, both of Berea, KY & Roy E. "Red" Rowlett of Aurora, IN;  Sisters, Rachael Baker of Berea, KY; & Hester Ratliff of Lawrenceburg, IN;  5 Grandchildren,10 Step-Grandchildren & 3 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Daughter:  Dawn "Muffy" Schuler, Son: Herbert "Tooter" Rowlett & 1st Wife: Janet Jump Rowlett.


Friends will be received 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Wednesday, January, 14, 2009 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Thursday,   at 11:00 am with Brother Melvin Barrows officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
