Clayton Roy Stevens, 87, of Moores Hill, IN, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in Lawrenceburg, IN.

He was born Monday, March 12, 1922 in Aurora, Indiana, Son of the late Clarence Edgar Stevens and the late Lula Jane Houston Stevens

He served his Country as a WWII Army Veteran. He fought during the Normandy Invasion, in which he was wounded. Clayton Stevens received the Purple Heart.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sparta, where he served as a Church Deacon.  He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #209 Morres Hill, IN. Mr. Stevens helped to build the Legion Post. He was a member of the Aurora VFW, Disabled American Veterans, the Masonic Hopewell Lodge #80 Dillsboro, IN. He worked as a Production Operator for Seagram's Distillery, retiring after over 42 years of service.

Surviving are his Wife, Mary Stevens of Moores Hill, IN; Son, Clayton Eugene Stevens of Moores Hill, IN; Daughter, Kathleen Holland of Bay City, TX; Brother, Harold Stevens of Moores Hill, IN; Sister, Emma Weber of Harrison, OH; 3 Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren & several Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Parents and several siblings.


Services

Friends will be received 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 am with Pastor Rick Burcham officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Aurora, IN. Color Guard Services will be conducted by the Korean War Veterans and the Aurora Veterans and the Moores Hill Veterans.
