Alfred Ray "Pappy" Brown, 87 of Rising Sun, IN, died Monday, January 3, 2011 in Rising Sun, IN.

He was born Saturday, May 20, 1923 in Aliquippa, PA, Son of the late Alfred David Brown and the late Lettie Rider Brown.

He served his Country as a WWII Army Veteran.

He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Interstate Amisite Corp, retiring after over 18 years of service. Ray was a superintendent and one of his projects was helping build the Pennsylvania Turnpike. He loved Coon Hunting, motorcycles and playing with his great grandchildren.

Surviving are Son, Butch (Teresa) Brown of Rising Sun, IN; Grandchild, Tiffany Sue Taylor Brown of Rising Sun, IN; several other grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; Sister, Betty Bondurant of Rising Sun, IN; and a large extended family including 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.


There will be a memorial visitation Friday January 7 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana.
